Preparation Assignments to Complete Before Class

Below are step-by-step instructions for how to prepare for the program. Please complete the following assignments two weeks before your program start date. If you have any questions about these preparation steps, please contact us.

1. Read the Pre-Read Guide

Download the Pre-read Guide. It is a quick introduction to change management, which will give you a common knowledge and language when you complete the pre-work with your team.

2. Complete the Project Summary Packet — Download the Project Summary Packet

To make the most of your learning experience, you will apply the Prosci methodology to a real project (past or current) within your organization. You will do so by building a “Case for Change Management” presentation, with the observation and assistance of a Prosci Master Instructor. This presentation will show the results of five key Prosci tools and assessments. At the conclusion of the week, you will have applied our methodology to your project and created a presentation articulating your change management plan. The Project Summary Packet will help you define your change prior to the program and will enable our team of instructors to better support you throughout the program.

Submit your Project Summary Packet no later than two weeks before your program to publicsessions@teammax.cc.

3. Read or listen to the ADKAR Book

The book ADKAR: a Model for Change applies the Prosci ADKAR model to several real-life case studies and begins to build a foundation in the concepts of change that are necessary for applying change management. Please read or listen to the first nine chapters of the book before the class begins on Tuesday morning. If you have the time, please complete the entire text. Past participants have found this to be a quick read and a very helpful introduction to managing change.

• If your shipping address is in the Mainland China and Taiwan , you will receive a hardcopy version of the book via mail. You may also access an audio book version by logging into your Prosci Portal account at portal.prosci.com

• If your shipping address is outside the Mainland China and Taiwan , you will receive the book when you arrive at the classroom on Tuesday morning. To complete your pre-reading you will need to access the audio book version by logging into your Prosci Portal account at portal.prosci.com

4. Look for your Prosci Portal Email

The Prosci Portal is your secure, one-key access point for Prosci’s change management tools and resources. You will receive a welcome email from portal.prosci.com for your online tools. Click on the url in the email to complete the Portal registration. This email will be sent to you one week before your program.

5. Remember to bring a laptop

Please make sure the laptop you bring has Microsoft Office 2007 or newer. If you plan to use a Mac product, you will need Microsoft Office for Mac because our Excel templates will not function properly in the Numbers for Mac software. Mac users also need to bring a VGA adapter to allow you to plug into a projector.

Certification and Professional Education Credits

With full attendance, participation in the presentation/observation, and getting an 80% or better on the exam, you will earn:

• Prosci Certification
• 24 PDUs from PMI (16 Technical, 6 Leadership, and 2 Strategic)

• WIFI Internet will be provided. Please check with your IT department to ensure your laptop has WIFI connectivity.
• Class dress code is casual. Please bring clothing that is comfortable and practical but not distracting or offensive to others.
• When packing, leave room to bring back materials that you will receive in class.
